Of course just getting there is hard. This pic makes the street look more open than it is -- because the wide angle of a iPhone distorts the view. The actual street is jammed, the sidewalks are jammed.
This is part of a flower vendor's booth.
Here you can get your chicken on!
Peru is I recall where the potato was first grown.
Corn and more potatoes!
Marinated olives at this booth. Bought some of these guys.
I didn't ask -- but I assume this booth specializes in chicken feet.
This poor guy's job is to haul ones purchase home. He seems to pretty much just sit as everyone mostly carries their own.
Peppers and what not.
This guy is a knife sharpener.
Another knife sharpener and he also makes and sells knives.
I bought is knive for S/4, which make it under $1.50 USA money. It's a simple, cheap knife -- but not bad for $1.50!
The ever popular cow foot booth.
That last pic was a bit blurry -- so needed to post another. Here the guy is splitting the feet apart.
That yellow guy bottom center is a tasty squash, I have never seen it before here in Peru.
OK -- now to leave the market and fight through the crowds!
This is as crowded as they come! Just walking on the sidewalk is hard. Not only the people, but all the sign posts and other obstructions every few feet.
This lady is trying to raise funds by hula hooping between the lanes of the road. There is also a guy who stands between the lanes wearing a Santa suit year round.
The traffic is chaotic, cars don't stop at the stop signs (they do stop at the red lights) -- but is all works out fine.
There is constant horn honking -- but none of the blaring, long honking like you hear is New York or other places -- just one light warning tap when needed.
